Overcoming anxiety 48 - A setback

Setbacks happen and they are completely normal in your road to recovery. Try not to let them scare you. PLEASE REMEMBER: Any advice I give is solely based on my own experiences and research and I am NOT a medical or mental health professional by any means. My advice should never be a substitute for getting professional help or for your doctor’s and/or psychiatrist’s/psychologist’s advice and directions. My videos are meant to show you that there is always hope in recovery and to give you the strength and courage to have faith that recovery is entirely possible.

None of you have to live with this anymore. I used to be a victim of this and I know the frustration, embarrassment and fear that is involved. Please go to my site. You dont need to buy anything, I promise you its already been paid for fuentesevangelism-.-c-o-m-

My therapist even agreed that my MSG use could be contributing. But see, I also consumed it in excess for many many years. And any bad effects may not show up until years later. Only time will tell in my case. What is for sure about MSG is that some people are allergic to it, but that’s a whole other thing. I’m fortunately not allergic to it.

I certainly agree with you that the internet can be bad for our worries. It’s a double-edge sword really. It can help us rule out major things, but can whip us into an anxious frenzy also. The MSG debate rages on. I do respectfully disagree that MSG isn’t potentially harmful even in moderation. Some people seem to be sensitive to it. In fact, I’ve been talking to some people now who had weird medical and undiagnosable issues and when they stopped consuming MSG, they’re symptoms disappeared

Anxiety certainly exaggerates the smallest perceived symptoms –at least mine has. Searching the web for MSG info probably didn’t help you. Most of what people say about it is completely false. It’s a natural salt found in many plants. It’s just overused in foods like regular table salt is. It’s certainly not the harmful chemical people make it out to be. I think we sufferers of anxiety tend to look for causes which don’t exist. Most of my symptoms are caused by my anxiety. It’s a nasty circle.

Hey, no side effects with cutting out MSG! You have nothing to lose except for any ailments caused or made worse by it.

I really want to cut MSG out of my life and eat organic foods. Maybe it would help me feel better.

awesome vid, hang in there. I know all about constantly thinking something is something else. I’ve also had a lot of facial twitches that freak me out.

Yes, once it runs its course, you’re right. Renewed strength and courage. That’s how I’m feeling now. My therapist feels that it was a good learning experience and she was right.

that’s great. I would agree that having facial numbness is scary. I also have anxiety and for the past months I’ve been dealing with possibly intracranial hypertension and with that comes a whole host of scary symptoms like facial numbness, decreased consciousness and vision problems, but I guess now it scared me to the point where fear is just as deep as it can get and somehow it ran its course. It is very scary, but it is also rejuvenation for courage and strength.

I hear ya. Thank god you’re okay! It’s always scary when numbness hits. And MSG can cause MS-like symptoms because it is a excitotoxin.
Some people are having their mercury fillings drilled out and replaced with composite fillings, but unfortunately they don’t last as long. A small price to pay though if mercury fillings are as harmful as is reported.

I know, it looks like I should’ve been fishing, doesn’t it? You know, that hat. lol Yeah, it keeps my hair from blowing around too much. :)

You enjoying your book? It’s helped me a lot. Anyway, I’ll respond to your message a bit later, gotta go for my bike ride and exp. therapy. Talk soon….

I don’t doubt that some additives have a negative impact on health, I try to avoid them as much as possible. However, when my anxiety was at it’s highest a couple of years ago I had facial numbness and was admitted to hospital and tested for MS (which I didn’t have). I relate on health worries tho - I have a mouthful of mercury fillings and I worry about that a lot. Esp since my dad was diagnosed with alzheimer’s at age 58 and I’ve read that there’s a link.

Hey my friend :) I like your hat!

Glad to hear that you didn’t let your worries keep you from getting out.
I’m a bit freaked out cause tomorrow i have to go to the eye doctor and get stuff checked out. Just nervous that they will tell me something i don’t want to hear.

“Don’t be bluffed”!
Thanks for the Claire weekes book.

Yes, hypochondria sure doesn’t help me out. Exactly how bad MSG is for us, is where the debate lies. But, I have now talked to people that told me MSG had caused many of their bizarre problems and once they quit their intake of it, their weird symptoms went away. It depends too, how sensitive a person is to it. It may not affect everyone or in the same way. Now that I’ve cut it out of my diet, my face stopped tingling. Who knows.

Brain cell loss is VERY overexaggerated. Your brain repairs itself and new neurons are created. And you’ve most likely killed hundreds of times more brain cells drinking or holding your breath during your lifetime than with MSG. The stress caused by your hypochrondria is much worse for you anyway.

TY for this! You are so correct in saying don’t avoid
