@CactusRose33 Very good point! I don’t think we have a service like that here though. And there’s plenty of tax money coming in like where you are. But unfortunately our local government has been accused over the years of misappropriating that money and paying retired city workers inflated pensions and retirements, and our city is in a big financial hole. They can’t even afford to keep the roads maintained here, with HUGE potholes and cracks everywhere. And yet very wealthy people around.
@bwelmhouse1 I live in Northern Michigan. It is similar to where you live in that it is a wine & tourist region and people who show up at summer homes have money and us who live year round aren’t as wealthy monetarily. 80% tourist based economy. I think living in such an area has its plus sides in that people with money pay a chunk of taxes and it helps with services. That if you need the services and are low income, you would qualify. Would love to hear what you find out. Good luck!
@CactusRose33 Wow, I never knew about that resource! Thank you for bringing that up! I’m now wondering if there’s something like that where I live.
And yes, do keep working at it and setting goals.
Also, in some communities, there is Community Mental Health through a government health department. That is where I am trying to set up help through. Especially being a minimum wage worker with no ounce of insurance. It has been a long time working on my social anxiety, since middle school, almost 15 years. I find my spirit trying to tell me to keep working at it, because I have dreams everynight of myself back in high school, “re-doing” situations as if I never had any social anxiety.
